and Food Chemistry》(中科院一区,IF=6.7)。"

广东省农业科学院作物研究所甘薯团队于Agricultural and Food Chemistry（中科院一区，IF: 6.7)在线发表题为“Pangenome Analysis Uncovers Two Pathotypes of Dickeya dadantii, the Causal Agent of Sweetpotato Stem Rot, and Identifies Virulence Associated Genes”的研究论文。

Highlights

•

Structural variations are diverse between wild buckwheat and landraces

•

The presence of _FtRNH_ in wild accessions is associated with high-altitude buckwheat is a nutritionally important crop of the Himalayas and is crucial for local economies and food security. However, key genes and superior alleles for high-altitude adaptability and yield remain poorly defined, constraining the breeding of high-altitude buckwheat varieties. Here, we generated a telomere-to-telomere reference genome and a 16-accession pangenome spanning Himalayan wild populations and globally distributed landraces. We identified 123,131 non-redundant structural variations in 16 accessions, including gene copy-number variations. The graph-based pangenome revealed _FtRNH_, a wild-specific gene that enhances high-altitude adaptability. We also identified a copy-number variation at the _FtPLATZ_ locus and a 28-bp insertion in the _FtPLATZ3_ promoter that together contribute to seed-size variation across wild buckwheat and landraces. Leveraging these superior _FtRNH_ and _FtPLATZ_ alleles, we developed buckwheat lines with enhanced high-altitude adaptability and improved yields across sites. These findings establish a pangenome-guided strategy for recovering wild alleles and combining stress adaptation with yield improvement in crops.

## Graphical abstract

[![Image 1: Graphical abstract undfig1](https://www.cell.com/cms/10.1016/j.cell.2026.07.035/asset/80aae474-ddc8-4bf8-b4f6-f1785f4a7e67/main.assets/ga1.jpg)](https://www.cell.com/cms/10.1016/j.cell.2026.07.035/asset/7fe20e85-06aa-4295-abf7-e5e9111a7185/main.assets/ga1_lrg.jpg "View full size image in a new tab")

## Keywords

1. However, whether their biological interpretation remains consistent across cultivars and growth stages is rarely examined. This study investigated how the relationships between UAV-derived multispectral and thermal canopy indicators and potato yield changed during crop development under contrasting irrigation in two cultivars with contrasting maturity classes (Anouk and Celandine). UAV surveys were conducted in July and August, and canopy metrics were related to final yield and tuber traits. The relationship between NDVI and yield differed markedly between cultivars and growth stages. In the early-maturing cultivar Anouk, July NDVI showed a strong positive correlation with yield ( r = 0.87, p = 0.002), whereas August NDVI was not informative. In the late-maturing cultivar Celandine, the relationship reversed from a positive correlation in July ( r = 0.56) to a strong negative correlation in August ( r = −0.80, p = 0.009), indicating that greater late-season canopy greenness was associated with lower yield. Exploratory LOOCV Random Forest models achieved the highest yield prediction accuracy using July features for Anouk ( R 2 = 0.72) and August features for Celandine ( R 2 = 0.47), while multi-temporal features provided similar predictive performance. Greater temporal declines in NDVI were associated with higher yield in both cultivars, consistent with the change in canopy greenness acting as a phenological indicator of the transition from vegetative growth to tuber bulking. These results demonstrate that the interpretation of UAV-derived vegetation indices is strongly dependent on cultivar maturity and growth stage. A single UAV acquisition may therefore provide misleading assessments of crop performance when canopy phenology is not considered. Rather than serving as fixed proxies for yield, canopy vegetation indices should be interpreted within cultivar-specific and temporal contexts when used for potato monitoring and agronomic decision-making.","摘要 单期无人机植被指数被广泛用于评估马铃薯作物表现和估算产量。 ,"Potato Research","2026-10-20T00:00:00Z",79
[
[215,220,227,233
[217],"potato",[206,217],[206
"H3",[],[224,225],"灌溉","irrigation",[
"I3",[],[231],"multispectral",[207,209,208
"W7223067378",[246,249
Jiangsan Zhao","https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3916-7388
Jaroslaw S.
