Within this context, climate-smart agriculture emerges as an approach to try to increase productivity by strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems. The research aimed to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of the soil at two sites: 1) where an agropastoral system has been implemented as a CSA practice; and 2) where unsustainable agricultural techniques have been maintained. Soil sampling followed NOM-021-SEMARNAT-2000, dividing the soil into six 25 m2 plots, from which characteristics such as soil texture, structure, pH, real and bulk density, porosity, organic matter, total carbonates, and hydraulic conductivity were determined. It was concluded that implementing climate-smart agriculture practices through agropastoral systems improves soil physical properties early, with increases of 1% in organic matter and 1.64% in new pore space; by contrast, changes in chemical properties require longer time scales. These results highlight the potential of climate-smart agriculture as a viable strategy for the restoration and sustainable management of agricultural soils in arid and semiarid regions of Mexico.","土壤是维持地球农业生产可持续性的重要战略资源；然而，由于不可持续的管理实践和气候变化的影响，土壤正面临逐步退化。 ,null,"Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Agrícolas","2026-10-07T00:00:00Z","论文",10,false,72
"H7","climate","气候适应与防灾减灾","/topic/environment/climate","H",[
"classified","2026-10-22.2","rules
45,53,61,68
"W7220668126",[83,86,89,91,94,97
Laura Sánchez‐Castillo","https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1028-2449
Edmar Meléndez-Jaramillo","https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9054-2572
Marisol Delgado-González
Daniel López-Aguirre","https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4128-7207
Héctor Rodríguez-Morán","https://orcid.org/0009-0009-2852-7967
María del Pilar Herrera-Mendoza","https://orcid.org/0009-0001-3894-5232",0
6,[113,171,230,308,371,466
4661,"Assessing climate change perceptions and climate-smart agriculture adoption among root, tuber and banana farmers in Eastern D.R. Given the intensification of challenges caused by climate change and weaknesses in institutional coordination, the successful implementation of CSA policies requires identifying key actors and assessing the quality of their relationships. The research was an applied study conducted using a descriptive-analytical method. Through direct observation and unstructured interviews with experts and key informants (32 individuals), 48 institutions and active associations related to CSA were identified in the province, and their links and interactions were analyzed using social network analysis (SNA). The results indicated that institutional coherence was at a moderate to relatively high level across four networks: agricultural productivity improvement, adaptation to climate change, greenhouse gas mitigation, and CSA. Furthermore, the Agricultural Jihad Organization (AJO), the Governor’s Office (Provincial Government) (GO), the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management (NRWM), the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (CCIMA), and the General Directorate of Environmental Protection (EP) were identified as the key actors with the highest centrality and social influence. The findings suggest that effective CSA development governance requires strengthening horizontal and vertical connections among governmental, scientific, financial, and civil institutions to prevent duplication and improve synergy in policymaking and the implementation of adaptive programs. By emphasizing institutional analysis, this research provides a framework for better understanding climate-based governance networks, which can be applied to other regions with similar conditions.","本研究旨在分析制度治理在伊朗锡斯坦-俾路支斯坦省发展气候智慧型农业（CSA）中的作用。
"W7220668983",[215,218,221
Hamid Karimi","https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6199-100X
Pouria Ataei","https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5174-3272
Jaber Pariab
Mots-clés : Changement climatique, PECI, Déterminants de l’adoption des PECI, Djidja, Bénin Abstract Benin’s agricultural sector, although a driving force of the economy, is weakened by significant climate variability, as reported by 97.6% of farmers in the municipality of Djidja. In this context, the adoption of Climate-Smart Local Practices (CSLP) appears to be an essential solution for building resilience. This research aims to identify the socioeconomic and institutional factors that influence the adoption of these practices. In this study, a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative and quantitative variables was adopted to assess the effects of Endogenous Climate-Smart Practices (ECSPs) on the adaptive capacity and food security of farming households. Data were collected in four arrondissements of the commune of Djidja: Setto, Mougnon, Djidja-Centre, and Monsourou. These areas were selected based on geographical considerations and the high number of farming households in the selected villages. The study was conducted with a sample of 123 farming households, determined using the Schwartz formula. The majority of whom have no formal education (58.5%) and modest incomes (52.8% earn less than 500,000 CFA francs per year). A multiple linear regression model was used to test the influence of six key variables on the PECI adoption score. The model results (R² = 0.112; F = 2.446; p = 0.029) indicate that adoption does not depend on traditional sociodemographic characteristics: gender (p = 0.794), education level (p = 0.679), age (p = 0.110), and farm size (p = 0.419) have no significant effect. In contrast, agricultural experience (B=0.690; p=0.007) and access to technical guidance and agricultural information (B=1.104; p=0.014) are the major positive determinants. This demonstrates that the adoption of CSLPs in Djidja is based on empirical learning and the quality of local agricultural extension services rather than on land ownership or educational attainment. The study concludes that it is necessary to strengthen extension services and support farmers’ groups (13 %) to scale up the transition to climate-smart agriculture. This study addresses that gap by examining how scaling and social capital are reflected in the documented outcomes of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS). Conceptual basis Scaling is conceptualized through three interacting pathways: scaling out (reaching more people and places), scaling up (influencing institutions and policies), and scaling deep (transforming relational norms and practices), following Moore et al. (2015). Social capital is understood as a multidimensional relational resource encompassing trust, relational closeness, and social support, expressed through bonding, bridging, and linking ties. These frameworks are applied as interpretive lenses for reading thematic patterns, rather than as pre-specified categories imposed on the data. Methods Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling was applied to 273 CCAFS outcome reports covering 261 AR4D projects across 12 research programs from 2018 to 2021. The 17 topics identified were grouped into four thematic clusters: agricultural systems, climate change adaptation, climate change mitigation, and enabling environments. A document-level co-occurrence analysis assessed how frequently scaling and social capital themes appear together within the same outcome report. Results Scaling appears in only 1.8% of outcome reports and does so retrospectively as a reported result rather than as a planned process. Social capital terms are prevalent across the enabling environment cluster, appearing in 45.4% of reports, yet are rarely articulated as a distinct mechanism of change. Critically, only 0.7% of reports show meaningful co-occurrence of both themes. This near-absence is the study's central empirical contribution: it reveals a systematic disconnection between the relational conditions that enable scaling in practice and the way scaling is conceptualized and monitored in AR4D outcome reporting, pointing to concrete opportunities for programmatic and reporting redesign.","引言 气候智慧型农业（Climate-Smart Agriculture, CSA）实践已逾15年，为农业发展研究（Agricultural Research for Development, AR4D）带来了大量投资，然而将研究成果转化为持续的大规模影响仍是该领域最持久的挑战之一。 ,"Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems","2026-09-23T00:00:00Z",76
"W7214061539",[357,360,363
Deissy Martínez- Barón","https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2317-8760
Anne Gravsholt Busck","https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7328-795X
Steven Dean Prager
,"2026-09-23T23:30:06.854102Z
3156,"Climate Adaptation and Sustainable Agriculture in Africa: Strategies for Food Security","https://doi.org/10.56201/ijgem.vol.11.no2.2025.pg8.32","This study investigates the role of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) and agroecology in enhancing agricultural resilience and food security in the face of climate change in Africa. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, case studies, and policy frameworks, the research explores how these adaptive strategies are being implemented across the continent and assesses their effectiveness. The findings reveal that while CSA techniques—such as droughtresistant crop varieties, water-efficient irrigation, and soil management practices—offer tangible benefits to agricultural productivity and resilience, their widespread adoption remains constrained by limited access to finance, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient extension services. Similarly, agroecological approaches, including crop diversification, agroforestry, and organic farming, have proven successful in fostering sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing biodiversity, yet face significant challenges from prevailing agricultural policies and institutional frameworks that favor large-scale industrial agriculture. The study recommends scaling up the adoption of CSA and agroecology by improving access to financing, technology, and farmer training programs. It also advocates for policy reforms that support agroecological practices and climate adaptation, as well as increased investment in research and development. Additionally, fostering multi-stakeholder collaborations, including public-private partnerships, is critical to overcoming institutional barriers and ensuring the effective implementation of climate adaptation strategies. The conclusion underscores the need for integrated policy frameworks that combine the strengths of CSA and agroecology to build a resilient, sustainable, and food-secure agricultural sector in Africa. By addressing both environmental and socioeconomic challenges, these strategies can significantly contribute to combating the impacts of climate change on African agriculture, ensuring long-term food security and sustainable development.","本研究探讨了气候智能型农业（Climate-Smart Agriculture, CSA）和农业生态学在增强非洲农业应对气候变化韧性和粮食安全方面的作用。 ,"IIARD INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF GEOGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT","2026-09-21T00:00:00Z
"sustainable-agriculture","可持续与保护性农业","/topic/environment/sustainable-agriculture
[401,405,410,414,423,427,434,439,443
[267],[266,267],[266
[407],"sustainable agriculture",[66],[386
[],[49,184,51],[27
[],[58,59],[
"H3",[],[431,432],"灌溉","irrigation",[
"J3",[],[384],[384
[],[72],[
"J1",[],[447],"农业政策",[],[450,451],"气候智慧型农业 非洲","生态农业 粮食安全","气候智慧型农业非洲-3156",5,"10.56201/ijgem.vol.11.no2.2025.pg8.32
"W7213982962",[458
Ayobami Samuel Owoyemi
,"2026-09-22T23:30:10.505058Z
2632,"AquaCrop modelling with frost risk in Southern Africa for bambara groundnut suitability and optimal planting dates","https://doi.org/10.3389/fsufs.2026.1829034","Bambara groundnut ( Vigna subterranea ) is a resilient indigenous African legume with potential for improving food and nutrition security in semi-arid environments. However, conventional land suitability assessments often rely on static climatic averages, which fail to capture the dynamic interactions between climate variability and crop phenology. This study proposes a novel, process-based framework that integrates the AquaCrop simulation model with a custom frost-trigger algorithm to map land suitability and optimal planting dates across 5,838 altitude zones in Southern Africa. By simulating crop growth dynamics over 49 consecutive seasons, the framework explicitly accounts for inter-seasonal variability and extreme events, specifically frost and water stress, that are typically overlooked in conventional assessments. A sequential filtering procedure was applied to exclude unsuitable areas based on seasonal rainfall thresholds, risk of crop failure, and variability in water productivity. Findings indicate that October is the most favourable planting month, as later sowings face increased yield reductions due to potential frost risk. Accounting for frost occurrence reduced suitable growing areas by 28%, with refined land-use filtering further reducing viable area by 20%. These results highlight the critical role of dynamic environmental stressors in accurately assessing crop suitability. Ultimately, this framework provides a scalable tool for climate-smart agricultural planning, offering a more robust approach to identifying viable production zones for resilient underutilised crops.","班巴拉花生（Vigna subterranea）是一种具有韧性的非洲本土豆科作物，在改善半干旱环境的粮食和营养安全方面具有潜力。
"W7213270406",[523,525,527
Simon Lake
Richard Kunz
Tafadzwanashe Mabhaudhi","https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9323-8127","https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/sustainable-food-systems/articles/10.3389/fsufs.2026.1829034/pdf
,"2026-09-16T23:30:08.115404Z"]
