systems","https://doi.org/10.3389/fsufs.2026.1937247","The transformation of sustainable food systems must reconcile production efficiency and supply resilience with the protection of smallholder livelihoods, and for economies with large populations and limited arable land this reconciliation rests heavily on how the scale of family-farm operation is understood and organized. The academic community has long held theoretical disagreements on this issue between static efficiency standards and dynamic equilibrium perspectives, and no integrated explanatory framework that combines economic logic, social context and temporal dimensions has yet been established. Drawing on new institutional economics, economic sociology, family life-cycle theory and intergenerational transmission theory, and proceeding through theoretical deduction, institutional context analysis and secondary evidence from policy documents, official statistics and literature, this paper develops a triple-constraint dynamic equilibrium framework for the moderate-scale operation of family farms in China; its purpose is explanatory rather than estimative, since no uniform optimal scale is defensible across heterogeneous regional endowments, crop systems, service conditions and family structures. The framework holds that moderate scale is not a fixed value set externally but a dynamic equilibrium interval of operating scale: the economic-efficiency constraint sets its lower bound, the social-embeddedness constraint sets its upper bound, and the intergenerational-sustainability constraint operates as an independent temporal condition that also moderates the position and width of the interval as the family life cycle and succession arrangements change. Seen thus, the factor-market, organisational-coordination and temporal-dimension failures observable in practice appear as three structural tensions that jointly compress the feasible interval and constrain the contribution of family farms to sustainable food-system goals. The contribution lies in bringing social embeddedness and intergenerational sustainability into the analysis of moderate scale, moving beyond a single-efficiency account and offering an integrated explanatory framework for the evolution of family-farm scale in transition economies with fragmented landholdings and household-centred production. The framework applies directly to family farms and other family-centred operations; its three constraints are analytically general, whereas their relative binding strength, the interval's position and the associated policy instruments remain conditional on the institutional environment, particularly China's collective land ownership and household contract responsibility system, so that its reference value for other transition economies is conditional rather than universal.","可持续食物系统的转型必须协调生产效率与供给韧性同小农生计保护之间的关系，而对于人口众多、耕地有限的经济体而言，这种协调在很大程度上取决于如何理解与组织家庭农场的经营规模。 Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems","2026-10-05T00:00:00Z
[
[194,200
7,[],[28,198],"smallholder",[28
"W7219629671",[213,216,218,220,222,225,227,229
Ning Ding","https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5618-6359
Jingjing Wang
Yong Xia
Fuhong Wang
Guirong Wang","https://orcid.org/0009-0000-3917-003X
Yi Lyu
Ziyang Wang
Yijuan Yang
,"openalex","2026-10-05T23:30:07.088111Z
4175,"Integrating Agricultural Technology Adoption and Financial Inclusion as a Strategy to Improve Micro-Scale Farm Productivity in Rural Areas of South Sumatra","https://doi.org/10.38124/ijisrt/26sep241","Micro-scale farming faces various constraints in improving productivity, particularly in relation to farmers' ability to adopt technology and access financing that meets their business needs. Agricultural technology can improve the efficiency of input use, access to information, farm management, and decision-making. However, technology adoption among smallholder farmers is still influenced by digital literacy, infrastructure, economic conditions, and institutional factors. On the other hand, access to credit can improve farm productivity and technical efficiency by enabling farmers to obtain production inputs and make productive investments. This study aims to: (1) analyze the effect of agricultural technology adoption on micro-scale farm productivity; and (2) analyze the effect of financial inclusion access on micro-scale farm productivity. The study employs a quantitative explanatory approach using multiple linear regression analysis. A total of 300 farm observations are used as simulated data to demonstrate the proposed analytical framework; therefore, the numerical results do not represent findings from an actual field survey. The independent variables consist of an agricultural technology adoption index and a financial inclusion access index, while farm productivity serves as the dependent variable. Farmers' age, education level, and land area are included as control variables. The results indicate that agricultural technology adoption and financial inclusion access have positive and statistically significant effects on farm productivity. The model explains a substantial proportion of the variation in productivity and provides an initial basis for further empirical investigation into the role of technology and financing in micro-scale farming. These findings are illustrative in nature and should be validated using primary data collected from farmers.","微观农业在提高生产力方面面临各种制约，尤其是农民采用技术以及获取满足其经营需求的融资能力方面的制约。 ,"International Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology (IJISRT)","2026-10-03T00:00:00Z",41
"W7218524136",[282,285
Lisa Hermawati","https://orcid.org/0009-0001-5824-7052
Ema Pusvita","https://orcid.org/0009-0002-2813-5567
,"2026-10-04T23:30:30.503599Z
3469,"ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR AGRICULTURE: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF FARMERS' PERCEPTIONS, ACCEPTANCE, ADOPTION AND BARRIERS","https://doi.org/10.64013/bbasrjlifess.v2026i1.70","Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping agriculture, enabling the application of data for efficient decision-making, precision farming, crop monitoring, pest management, disease detection, smart irrigation, yield prediction, and various aspects of farm automation. Yet, to successfully gain a foothold in farms, factors like farmers' perceptions, their acceptance, desire, and readiness to adopt, as well as the capability to surmount socioeconomic, technological, and institutional challenges, must also make a difference. This article systematically collates the available information on farmers' perspectives on, acceptance of, readiness to adopt, and the obstacles related to AI in the agricultural context. The PRISMA 2020 guideline has been followed to select studies that are related, evaluated for inclusion, and finally, per the criteria, combined into a systematic synthesis. The review mainly discusses the aspects that influence the use of AI, like perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust, digital literacy, affordability, farm size, socioeconomic characteristics, availability of digital infrastructure, and access to agricultural technical advisory services. Main challenges identified involve the high cost of implementing AI, poor connectivity, weak rural infrastructure, low levels of technological knowledge, unavailability of support services, concerns about data privacy, distrust of algorithmic bias, language barriers, and inequalities impacting smallholder farmers. Besides barriers, the review indicates the potential of leveraging AI through extension services, agricultural mobile apps, precision farming, climate-smart agriculture, early-warning systems, and tailored farm advisories. By drawing out technical, behavioral, socioeconomic, and institutional perspectives, the review pinpoints important research questions and presents a farmholder-oriented setup to explain the process of taking up AI in farming. The outcomes can be used by scientific experts, policymakers, extension personnel, and software developers to create low-cost, reliable, and accessible AI systems aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural development.","人工智能（AI）正迅速重塑农业，使数据得以应用于高效决策、精准农业、作物监测、病虫害管理、病害检测、智能灌溉、产量预测以及农场自动化的各个方面。 ,"Journal of Life and Social Sciences","2026-09-24T00:00:00Z",80
"I2","agricultural-ai","农业AI与大模型","/topic/digital-agriculture/agricultural-ai","I",[318
[322,327,331,337,344,348
[324],"artificial intelligence",[324],[309
[],[134,198],[310,134
"W7214189410",[361,363,365,367,369,371,373,375
MM JAMEEL
M SAEED
SA SHER
Z ALI
Q HAYYAT
S KIRBAG
S KHAN
HN AHMAD
,"2026-09-25T00:09:33.572434Z"]
